During a 2am AliExpress wander, I found some pre-built solar nodes for MeshCore/Meshtastic for cheap but I didn't want to pay for the terrible antenna it probably included. I eventually noticed that those nodes were based off an existing solar panel charger thingy and so I bought one of those instead [AliExpress](https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008799119132.html) ![](https://cdn.tahnok.ca/u/solar_panel_ali.png) Curious to know how well they performed I stitched together an old Adafruit Feather Datalogger and an INA3221 and recorded about 8 hours of data Here's what I found: | Time (s) | 26108 | | --------------------- | ---------------- | | Time (hours) | 7.25222222222222 | | | | | battery voltage delta | 0.096 | | | | | Power (Wh) | 2.90724516666667 | | Power (mAh) | 706.64 | | | | | % of 18650 charged | 23.55% | ![](https://cdn.tahnok.ca/u/solar_panel_watts.png) ![](https://cdn.tahnok.ca/u/battery_voltage.png) Raw data: https://cdn.tahnok.ca/u/29094926-1166-5f66-b6d3-dbb1ae2b4e89.ods
